Kedah Science & Technology Park (KSTP) Development Initiative which will be implemented in an area of 1,938 acres in Bukit Kayu Hitam, Kedah will be a catalyst to encourage the development of research highly capable as well as ensuring more economic growth fast and rapid, especially in the northern part of the state of Kedah. Development projects of KSTP will also indirectly be able to help higher income generation for the people of Kedah.
The development of the first phase of KSTP will include two clusters, "Advance Materials" and "Agro-Science". Development in KSTP is expected to create over 23,244 new jobs as well able to attract an estimated investment of RM12.9 billion by the year 2030. For information, the Ministry of Finance has also approved the package special incentives for the development of KRC and KSTP under the NCER Special Tax Incentive Package (STIP) to attract potential investors.
